Clinico-experimental studying the immunomorphological reactions variants in the prosthesis of anterior abdominal wall using synthetic polypropylene mesh was conducted. In 70 patients, operated on for postoperative hernia of abdominal wall using "on lay" method and the immune state were studied up by means of investigation of proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines content, in part, of tumor necrosis factor-alpha; (TNF-alpha), IL-8, IL-4. Morphological investigations were conducted in experiment on 100 the Vistar line mices, there were studied reactions of fibroblasts, macrophages, lymphocytes and leucocytes. The results of the immunological and morphological reactions on polypropylene obtained trust the necessity of differentiated approach application for the choice of the synthetic prosthesis kind, taking into account its biocompatibility, physical properties, the hernial defect size etc.

The results of surgical treatment of 92 patients, suffering destructive pancreatitis, are analyzed. After standard surgical interventions, mainly close and semiopen, various complications occurred in 24 (47%) patients, lethality had constituted 31.4%; after the "open" - the staged revision, programmed necrsequestrectomy - complications were revealed in 10 (45.4%) patients, lethality was 27.3%. After performance of programmed videoendoscopic hypothermal sanation the postoperative complications rate and lethality had reduced by 19.1 and 11.5%, respectively.

The results of treatment of 67 patients, admitted to the hospital clinic for the spread peritonitis and ileus were studied. In 37 of them (main group) the intestinal decompression and hypothermic lavage was performed, in 30 (control group)--intestinal decompression only. The operation character and intensive therapy volume in patients of both groups were similar. In conduction of hypothermic intestinal lavage the accelerated restoration of intestinal peristalsis was noted, as well as the peritonitis and intoxication symptoms elimination. Duration of treatment of patients in stationary in the main and control groups had constituted, accordingly (11.6 +/- 0.73) and (16.8 +/- 1.03) days, lethality--8.1 and 13.8, frequency of complications--10.8 and 30%.

A frequency-modulated continuous-wave technique is used to detect phases of backscattered signals in a single-mode fiber. A distributed interferometric sensor system employing this technique is presented, and interrogation of 28 sensing regions is demonstrated. Spatial resolution 0.7 m and a sensitivity of 3 mrad/ radicalHz are achieved.

The paper discusses the interrelationship between osmo-volume parameters of homeostasis as well as the role of adequate parenteral nutrition in correction of surgery-associated disorders in gastric cancer patients. The study included 123 such cases. The baseline circulating blood volume and that of blood components was found decreased whereas blood serum osmotic index elevated. The above parameters correlated with each other and depended upon site and extent of tumor. Advanced cases with depleted reserves do not always respond to correcting therapy which may influence the outcome of surgery.

The paper deals with some experience gained in the use of systemic quantitation of behavior for diagnosing the functional status of a working man. Comparing the indices of the somatic and autonomic nervous system with the stage and end resultant parameters of practical activities made it possible to diagnose psychoemotional stress, to reveal a risk group and to develop a package of individual correction measures to promote the health of a working man.

Lymphopoiesis stimulating drugs were injected into the blood of rabbits bearing Brown-Pearce transplantable tumor. It was found that treatment with mannitol targeted on osmoregulation mechanisms and terrilytin--on blood and lymph coagulation intensified the lymphogenic migration of tumor cells. When used in an experimental series involving endolymphic transplantation of tumor cells, the said drugs promoted tumor cell passage from lymph to blood, which resulted in an increased number of metastasis-bearing animals. It was also found that the promoting effect may be counteracted by preliminary endolymphic injection of a fat-soluble antitumor preparation. Lymphopoiesis and lymph flow stimulation in conjunction with thoracic duct draining may be used for removal of tumor cells from the lymphatics.
